The PLOTINA summer school on How to be a Peer Reviewer will be held on 10-14 September 2018 at the University of Warwick.
The summer school aims to provide an understanding of what different review processes entail. Participants will learn how to be constructive and effective reviewers and how to respond to reviewers’ comments. Participants will also become familiar with ethical considerations and knowledge production issues in peer reviewing including sex and gender considerations.
Through the speakers and the practical sessions, the summer school will give insights into successful publishing and grant writing. The 1st and 2nd day will be targeted at natural scientists and the 4th and 5th day will be targeted at social scientists with different workshop leaders being involved in the two parts. The 3rd day will be a writing bootcamp and a CV workshop where both natural and social scientists will review papers, proposals, and CVs.
