Özyeğin University’s Gender Equality Specialist, Dr. Yeşim Sünbüloğlu, started on December 3rd, 2018. Özyeğin University’s Gender Equality Plan implementation process has veritably gained more momentum since her arrival.

Nurseli Yeşim Sünbüloğlu completed her MA in Gender Studies at the Central European University and her PhD in Sociology at the University of Sussex (UK) with her thesis entitled Politics of the Rehabilitation of Disabled Veterans: Masculinity, the Body and Militarism in Turkey. She has published works focusing on masculinities, disability, militarism, and nationalism. She is one of the founding members of the Initiative for Critical Studies of Masculinities (ICSM), which is an independent collaboration of academics and activists in Turkey, organising conferences, workshops and publishing a bilingual journal, Masculinities: A Journal of Identity and Culture. Currently she is the Gender Equality Expert at Ozyegin University in Istanbul.
